Nomad travelers can request a rate increase after accepting an offer, though a post-offer acceptance request may not be approved by your facility.
“I would like to request a pay rate increase” common Q and A- added
Q: I accepted a contract with Nomad a few days ago, and now I am seeing a rate increase on the Nomad website. How can my contract be price matched with the rates I am seeing?
A: Due to the seasonal nature of healthcare staffing, rates are constantly changing as staffing needs fluctuate from facility to facility.
If you would like to request a rate increase these are the steps we kindly ask you to take:
- Make sure the listing you are inquiring about matches your current contract details. For example, is the listing for your unit, for your contract length, and for your guaranteed hours per week?
- If the listing does not align with your contract, this could be a defining reason as to why your rates are different than the ones in the listing. However, you are still welcome to request a rate increase.
If the higher rate listing aligns with your current contract please follow the steps below:
- Reach out to your Nomad Navigator with your inquiry.
- Provide your Nomad Navigator with a screenshot or link to the listing you would like your contractual rates to be matched with. Your Nomad Navigator will send you a confirmation once your request has been received, and will be in touch with details and feedback received from the facility.
Q: I would like to request a rate increase, however, I have seen no listings out there with the rates I would like.
A: Nomad understands that you may want to inquire about a rate increase mid-way through an assignment, or for a potential extension request. We kindly ask that you follow the steps below if you are interested in a rate increase but cannot provide a screenshot or link to a listing:
- Reach out to your Nomad Navigator with your inquiry.
- Provide your Nomad Navigator with reasoning for your request such as (“I have been floated to higher risk units, I have a higher patient ratio, I am working more hours, etc,”.)
- Provide your Nomad Navigator with detailed information on the specific rate you are requesting (such as $X/hr, $X/week).
- Your Nomad Navigator will send you a confirmation once your request has been received, and will be in touch with details and feedback received from the facility.
Q: I do not want to sign my current contract unless my rates are matched with the listing I am seeing on your site.
A: We understand the urgency of your requests. Please be aware that failure to sign your contract prior to your start date or the effective date of an approved increase can result in inaccurate or delayed pay. We want to ensure that you are paid on time, in the event you are still unable to sign your contract prior to your start date for said reasons, please provide us with an available time to chat so we can work through your questions together.
